They fill fuck us up the ass and make us humble, Iron Sheik-style.
Probably, but we can and have played better than we did today.

The good news is that we usually play a shitty game like today and come falling back down to earth, but today we found a way to win.

You and I were among many here who all felt that we were due for the rain to fall on the parade, but somehow the Cowboys found a way to break that cycle and did so in a game that they almost always lose.

Whether that means this season will be special remains to be seen, but at least we didn't lose this time.

You just have to kind of be happy to be 4-1. No one on this board thought we would be in that position. Even with a loss next week 4-2 is a pretty damn good start to the season.
Nobody saw that coming.

Hell, I thought they'd be 2-3 at best. From this point forward, everything is icing on the cake because they've already surpassed what I thought they could do.

You have to be extremely happy about that. On the red Zone they said something like 77% of 4-1 teams make the playoffs. It's certainly encouraging.

I did. I just never mentioned it on this or any other board.

I knew this game was gonna be ugly....I just knew it.

But today, I don't give a flying fuck about style points. These bitches have to wait 4 more years before getting another crack, and for the first time in a long time, they don't have shit to say.

Now I'm pumped for Seattle, and we'll find out just how good this team really is.
I'm with. To hell with style points.

I'm just glad to walk away with a win. We usually come out on the short end of the stick in games like this.

I'm just going to enjoy the Cowboys being 4-1 at the moment, instead of whining about how we didn't close strong.

I had them figured for 3-2 at this point. Only real surprise is beating the Saints, and it turns out the Saints are pretty mediocre this year.

the good news is the team is playing winning football for once, instead of just out talenting the bad teams. We'll see if it pays off.

Exactly right. We played down to the competition, and played sloppy. In the past, we almost always found ways to lose a game like this. We lost the turnover battle 3-1, but still found a way to win.

All teams will have an ugly game or two. Good teams will win the majority of them. I still don't expect us to have some sort of miraculous run deep into the post season, but teams need to learn how to win. Winning a game like they did today is an important step in the right direction, imo.

we usually come out on the losing end of games like this is exactly right. the defense came up big in overtime.a lot of times in the past they would just go belly up and give up the game.

Yep. Especially considering how the Texans scored ten points so quickly at the end of regulation. I'll admit, I was thinking "Here we go again..." The way they stood up in overtime was nice. Especially after getting gashed with that first run that put them out at midfield.

I'll take it, even though we consistently tried to give it away multiple times. This was definitely the classic trap game coming off a huge win last week. Just glad we managed to salvage it and escape.

So 4-1. Guess it'll take 4-7 or worse to not finish above 8-8. Do we have it in us?

Yup.

I'll gladly take the 4-1, especially against the Texans, and be damn happy about it.

We have a shit load of ugly losses on our resume over the last few years, and not enough ugly wins. As many games as we've given away that we should have won, I'll be damned if I complain about finding a way to win one of these.

This mistakes and turnovers are going to have to stop, but I love seeing Murray with 31 rushing attempts and well over 100 yards. Linehan has us committed to the run and it needs to stay that way.

I'm really looking forward to the Dez Bryant vs. Richard Sherman match up next week.

I hope we don't completely shy away from Dick.

We must attack Dick hard. Early and often. Especially when he's playing soft.

We can't allow Dick to dictate the flow of our offense.

Lions scored 0 points in second half of Bills game. Why would any team hire Jim Caldwell?

I picked cowboys for 2-14 this season. I honestly thought we'd lose today, because the Texans are way better than the Rams, Titans, or Saints.

I'm so happy with this ugly ass win.

Romo effed up with a pick (that the defense thankfully nullified, field position-wise) and the delay of game, but he managed that last drive in regulation perfectly.

The defense stopping Houston midfield in OT and Dallas driving patiently from the ten to win it was impressive.

Also I had no idea Romo could ever do a 2006-7 era evade pass rusher and TD pass. Yelled so loud on that play the dog scrambled out of the room in terror.
