First time in about 3 years or so that the Red Sox don't stumble out of the gate.

The question is, does this particular team have staying power?

And Yu Darvish is going to be pretty damn good.

His slider breaks as much as his curveball. It's insane.

He'll become the every day guy soon. Cowgill is a grinder, just not an every day guy, he'll be there very soon.

The AL East is underwhelming right now. They might have a chance just based on how mediocre it is.

I'm no baseball expert, but the last guy I saw that had a slider that broke like that was Brad Lidge before Pujols ruined him. :lol

But before that, Brad Lidge's slider was nasty.

They are definitely benefiting from the quality of the division.

I just look at them and don't see anything special about that pitching staff or their bats, but so far they are making it work.

We'll see if it lasts.

But they just brought up Juan Lagares.

Where's the playing time going to come from?

Lagares is not a legit prospect...he's a JAG. Valdespin may get time in LF and Duda may shirt to 1B...Ike Davis is horrid right now.

How amazing is it that this kid can throw that many different pitches and all from the same motion. He was throwing up to 97 MPH last night and then throwing 61 MPH curves just to break off 3rd strikes. Wow. 49 Ks in 32 + innings with a 1.65 era. Phenomenal.

He might be as good as Matt Harvey one day.

I don't know if he'll be as good as Pedro was in his prime, but being able to go from a 98 mph cutter to a 67 mph change up is what made him so deadly.

If Yu can master that, then the sky's the limit for him.

Rangers low A team (Hickory) is leading all of baseball (including the majors) in HRs.

EZ if you are close to Hickory you should go check them out. Some real good talent there.

So Tepisch goes almost 7 and only gives up a run yesterday and Grimm goes 7 and gives up nothing. I don't even know if these are top guys in terms of young pitchers in our system but I'm extremely pleased. And the Rangers win another tonight. Very cool!

As far as their top 10 minor league players (including position players) Grimm was ranked in the bottom half by some. No mention of Tepesch. As far as just pitchers Grimm was up there but I just get the feeling that Tepesch came out of nowhere according to the media. The team liked him and now we are seeing why. I know one team that asked to trade for him during spring training and the Rangers were reluctant.

Wash is going to have a decision to make in a month when Colby Lewis and Martin Perez are ready if these two young ones keep pitching like they are.

Every current Rangers starter has a lower ERA than:
Sale, Sabathia, Wilson, Dickey, Weaver, Price, Lincecum, G. Gonzalez, Halladay, Hammels, Cain, and J. Johnson.

Rangers prospect Joey Gallo connects for 8th HR. He now has 30 in 81 career MiLB games (out of 74 hits).

Just. Cant. Wait....

@ESPNStatsInfo 3 AL pitchers under age 24 have gone 5-0 or better in April: Matt Moore, Babe Ruth (1917) & Greg Swindell (1988).

That's some nasty company you're with, Greg Swindell.
