I don't believe for a second that the NFL never saw this video. If by some chance they didn't it's their fault. They could have easily acquired this video.

As for the video, very damning. Ray definitely deserved more than 2 games. She basically takes to big hits to the head. Rice hits her with a powerful left hook and she falls face first into the wall and metal handrail of the elevator. If the punch didn't knock her unconscious her head hitting that handrail did.

It wouldn't surprise me if the league did see the video before the initial suspension, thinking the public would never see it. And now that the video has been released to the public, and Rice has been suspended indefinitely, it's a panic reaction along with the story that they never saw it.
