Looks like I only get NE-Mia for my early game. No early Fox game in Miami due to NFL rules.

This is the first time that I've lived in a city that has an NFL franchise. Do they always blackout games from the other network in order to force you to watch the local team?

I haven't found that to be the case here in the DFW area.

Yea, that dumb crap started a few years ago.

If the Texans are on, no other game is allowed to be shown at the same time.

Interesting. So that's 8 games a year where I'll be forced to watch the Dolphins.

Looks like I'll be hitting the sports bar a little more than I anticipated.

It's just about the dumbest thing the NFL does. It serves no discernable purpose.

I agree. It's a dumb rule. This is the explanation that I found on wikipedia.

The NFL rules prohibit other NFL games from being shown on local television stations while a local team is playing a sold out, locally televised home game. The rules are designed to encourage ticket-holders to show up at the stadium instead of watching another game on television.

If the games are sold out WGAS if fans actually show up to watch. You've got your money. Why force the rest of the city to watch only one game?
