Also regardless if anyone wants to admit it or not we could really use Josh Brent for our run defense like yesterday.
That speaks more to the piss poor job of personnel acquisition than it does Brent's talent, especially after a layoff.

Absolutely. Brent has been made out to be this savior when he is average.

I can see it now. We are 3-6 and the savior hype trains starts rolling after we have cycled through at least three who gives a shit nose tackles.

Almost two years. Savior.
Name one person who has called him a savior or anything close for that matter.

He was playing at an above average level before the accident just look at the numbers, nobody thinks he is a savior just a potentially valuable chip moving forward if for nothing else a great depth.

What is wrong with that?

When an owner says a player is guaranteed a roster spot if or when he comes back, what does that tell you? That it is just ho hum, just see what we got here?

In other words, what do normal teams do? Oh yeah, shut up about players in trouble and deal with it when they return.

Not necessarily on this board. But even some on this board have acted like he is going to make some big impact. Regardless, the point is, he is an average player that won't have played for almost two years. It's pathetic that we have to rely on this nonsense to be a savior for our defense.

Jerry has promised him a roster spot so who's shown the door to make room?

Did he roster spot or spot on the team because I don't really remember.

And anyway what does it really matter if he is stinking it up after he is able to practice week 7 they will never add him to the roster.

I am thinking long term with Brent if he comes back close to the same guy we have a good rotation with him and McClain.

This defense needs all the talent infusion it can get moving forward and Brent in my mind is like found money.

He can't practice until week 9. So, they have to figure it out pretty damn quickly after he comes back.

I think the point now is that a bad as everyone says the defense will be, any help(even average) is needed..

If he is in the facility after week 7 they will be able to tell a lot, that late into the season they will not be doing to much physical in practice anyway.

And are we really bitching that he might knock Hayden or Bishop off the roster?

I'm bitching about why we are where we are. We shouldn't have to rely on JAGs like Brent to "save" our defense. It's ridiculous.

You have missed the point, apparently.
