Also since we're talking Baylor, last night during the game I looked up their non-conference schedule going forward. Ab. So. Lute. JOKE!

Nothing but a bunch of garbage games against the likes of Northwestern St. and Lamar. $100 to anyone who can tell me where those schools are without the use of Google.

They should be ashamed of themselves.

A few years down the road they finally have a game against power 5 conference school.....Duke. Still laughable but that's something for them.

They need to start scheduling some quality opponents. Doesn't have to be against teams like LSU but at least play a team like Purdue.
The AD is always on the local ESPN talkshow and he was talking about that recently. I agree that its bad but you also have to have teams agree to play you. He said he is having a hard time getting teams to want to play them. Now I dont know who he has tried to call but I know there is some truth to this. They will have to win even more convincingly if they want to win tiebreakers against some teams that do play them when it comes playoff time. If they are still in the running for that.

As far as competition I do know that was a factor but it felt like even more than that. Just was too inconsistent.

Lamar is in Texas I believe I am not sure about the other. Do I get $50.00?
Houston area?

Northwestern state is a state that is northwest of us.

No one wins the $100. Not even $50. :art

Northwestern State is located in some place called Natchitoches, Louisiana.

Sounds like a glorified Junior College to me.

I didn't realize USC and Stanford play this upcoming weekend. Seems way too early for that game. That's a game should be played in October or November.

I should have known that. I was over there not long ago on a little mini vacation. Stayed at a casino hotel not far from there.

Pretty entertaining first week of college ball, and week 2 has some solid games on the slate.

Michigan vs ND is always a good watch, and USC vs Stanford should be really good too.

While I don't expect Texas' defense to make this giant leap in just one offseason, I am interested to see what the unit looks like on Saturday under Strong when they face an always tough BYU team.

Shame Miami didn't win last night. I hate that scumbag Petrino and wish him nothing but failure.

Speaking of Miami, 1bigfan13 - what are the locals like there when it comes to Hurricanes football? Do they act like Miami is still this elite program?

Nope. They've been irrelevant for so long the Canes are rarely mentioned.

If Petty cant continue that is bad news for Baylor because the backup is not very good at all.

Hey, we're trotting out a guy with 26 total career passing yards this coming Saturday, so it could be worse.

Sucks for Ash that he has concussion issues, but from simply a football standpoint, I'm glad we're forced to play someone else. We aren't going anywhere with Ash and we need to see what we have behind him.

I'd even be open to giving the true freshman a look. We need to find a QB asap.

Baylor doesn't play anyone until conference play starts up. He'll be fine and healed up by then as long as they don't call any designed runs for him.

Neither NW State or Buffalo will lay a hand on him.

I hope you're still there when Miami becomes good again. You think the Heat love was unbearable? Just wait til the bandwagoners get back on the Canes.

Miami has amazing national support when they are winning. They still had a hard time selling out the stadium when they were still good. And their stadium is not all that big either. It is weird because you hears all about the U but the locals suck for support.

Dang floridians are fickle bastids.

Miami is a lot like Dallas in its population makeup. There are not a lot of native Floridians in the metroplex. They have split allegiances to teams.

Tennessee look good on Sunday. We will win our next game too; then we have OK and UGA back to back on the road. So 2-2 it is. But arrow pointing up.

Their stadium is also a shit hole. That probably doesn't help their cause. So when you couple that with the local fan base being poor to begin with, they just don't give a shit.

College football is a lot more exciting when the University of Miami is dominant. When Al Golden gets fired and Greg Schiano becomes the head coach, he will recruit from the shadiest areas of florida and they will be good again
