Tech has a LOT of work to do.
Yep. I thought they just had first game jitters right at the first of the game, but that wasn't it at all. That defense is going to kill us. We can't play shootout ball with everyone and expect to win.

Wisc completely choked that one away. There is a reason their QB was playing S last year. It's a shame because they have legit talent to win.

The front seven the front seven the front seven...

That is the difference. Everything else is basically equal.

REFEREE IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER BEING HIT WITH STEVE SPURRIER’S HEADSET
GREG HENDERSON — AUGUST 28, 2014

COLUMBIA, SC — A SEC sideline official is in critical condition after being hit with a coaching headset thrown by South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier shortly before halftime.

The incident took place following an intentional grounding penalty in the final seconds before halftime in tonight’s game against Texas A&M. Spurrier was seen throwing his headset in reaction to the call, hitting line judge Paul DiMarco in the head.

“We all are aware of Spurrier’s tendency to throw headsets and visors during games. Seasoned officials maintain a good distance from the coach,” SEC head of officiating Steve Shaw tells us. “This is Paul’s second year and first time calling a South Carolina game. He never saw it coming. It hit him and he dropped faster than the Gamecock’s ranking.”

DiMarco remained unconscious on the field as the teams went into the locker room for halftime. He was then transported to nearby Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Coach Spurrier refused to issue a statement after hearing the news during halftime. A&M coach Kevin Sumlin expressed his sympathy for DiMarco.

“I feel terrible for DiMarco, he has done an amazing job in the two games of ours he has officiated,” Sumlin says. “I am just glad there are 55 or so yards between myself and Spurrier. He may have won a Heisman, but I can assure you no one on that side of the field can throw that far.”

SEC commissioner Mike Slive says he plans to suspend Spurrier from 2 games for the assault, keeping in line with the standards set by the NFL

It didn't matter. SMU looked like a lower tier high school team out there.

I expected them to get their ass handed to them but they looked completely dysfunctional. Like a group of players who were introduced to football less than 48 hours prior to kickoff.

I know but there was a little talk going into the season about the Heisman for him. At least around these parts. He has been inconsistent for several games now but to be fair I did post that before the back injury became known.

Yes SMU was a complete mess. Your point about Petty is taken. As easy as the opponent was last night he should have looked like Tom Brady. I couldn't tell whether the receivers were not executing or he was just out of sync but they didn't look like a sound unit even though the score was out of hand. Maybe it was opening day jitters with the excitement of the new stadium and RG 111 looking on.

He still has UCF in his head. Poor guy, not sure he'll ever get over it.

Not trying to be a smart ass but that "something" is called film and tougher competition.

Hell, if Stoops wasn't so hell bent on sticking with Belldozer Oklahoma probably gives them tougher game. Remember OU led most of the first half until their defense finally threw in the towel after getting absolutely no help from the offense.

I'm not saying OU would have won but I do believe they'd have given themselves a better chance to win had that pulled Bell in the 2nd Qtr.

Also since we're talking Baylor, last night during the game I looked up their non-conference schedule going forward. Ab. So. Lute. JOKE!

Nothing but a bunch of garbage games against the likes of Northwestern St. and Lamar. $100 to anyone who can tell me where those schools are without the use of Google.

They should be ashamed of themselves.

A few years down the road they finally have a game against power 5 conference school.....Duke. Still laughable but that's something for them.

They need to start scheduling some quality opponents. Doesn't have to be against teams like LSU but at least play a team like Purdue.

That's the problem I have always had with Tech's non-conference schedule. We finally have a decent opponent in Arkansas this year, so maybe this will change under Kingsbury.

Thats the kind of schedule that gets a 1 loss team not considered for the final 4.

Lamar is in Texas I believe I am not sure about the other. Do I get $50.00?
