I don't think it's so much that winning doesn't take precedence over money, it's that the Cowboy's are profitable enough to allow him to continue to do it his way.
I would agree with that.

There has always been a glitz and glamour element to this franchise and it stated long before Jones was the owner. One of the first elements to put it in that category was the cheerleaders. Another thing was the open top stadium. The media grabbed onto the America's team phrase and pumped the airways with the public hype.
that was then, this is now. like the Kennedys, we're living off the long-ago accomplishments of others.

It's a vicious cycle fed by Jerruh's ego, he can't fathom that he's doing it wrong because business is booming, so the winning should come eventually in his mind.
That and he's having to much fun and making money hand over fist, imagine making billions by fucking around with your favorite toy...

Jones has been successful in maintaining and perpetuating the glitz and glamor tag.

Simp is actually correct. He wants to win his way. Now you can take it farther and say that his way doesn't work (and that's proven) and then technically he doesn't really want to win.
Actually?

Appreciate that.

And now according to ESPN OTL Adrian Peterson has told Jerry that he wants to be a cowboy when his tenure with the vikings is over. More jersey sales. $$$$$$

Lol.

Actually as in the one I think that is most correct out of all the people that stated their opinions.

Not the actually that insinuates that I think you are wrong a lot and you finally got one right.

Simp expanded on yours which is actually the important part. If he just wanted to win we wouldn't have the Garretts and Campos.

No need to expand. He think he is doing the best he can to help this team win. Just because he does not know how to make those decisions does not change that narrative.

It can be debated all you want.

If you REALLY want something, then you do what you have to do to obtain that goal.

And if winning was important to Jerry...he would change whatever he needed to change in order to put a winning product on the field.

Jerry is still here..and there's yet another losing season coming up that can be directly attributed to his inability to put together the pieces for a winning franchise.

So obviously...winning is not THAT important.

Pretty simple, huh?

This all means nothing...in his mind he is doing what it takes to win. To say he does not want to win is blatantly false.

I agree winning is important to him. To me he thinks he can make it happen. He has deluded himself into thinking he is right. He also knows however if he steps down it is an admission of failure and that is unacceptable more so than winning.

I don't know if he really thinks what he is doing is best or not, I think it's more likely that he just doesn't care because there are no repercussions. The comment about how he'd fire a GM with his track record is what makes me think he knows what he's doing isn't the best avenue.

He certainly may have convinced himself that what he's doing is best though.

I don't think in his mind he's doing what it takes to win. He's doing the best he can to win without compromising his massive ego. Even if God Himself told Jerry that he would never win another game without hiring a GM and stepping back, he would grin and wink through 0-16 seasons because any sacrifice from Jerry is off the table.

And you know this because...you are in Jerry's mind? He's told you? You have secret documents?

I don’t agree that he does not think he is doing what HE thinks will make the team win. I don't agree with his methods, but it would make the Cowboys an even bigger money maker if they were successful on the field.

Seriously though? Secret documents and him telling me? I'll just agree next time.

I'll just nod and agree though.

He may think it's possible to make the team win his way, he's a gambler after all, but he knows he could have better odds doing it differently. He can't be that stupid.
