Ugh. A DL that has Terrell McClain penciled in as a starter right now is not a very good DL.

He is barely a step above any of the schlubs we brought in like Drake Nevis and Corvey Irvin.

Hopefully one of the undrafted kids beats him out.

Yeah, dude. That's why. Here's the book on how to beat Dallas for the entire tenure of Jason Garrett:

1: Load 8 in the box so we predictably check out of any running plays.

2: Blitz Romo.

3: Profit.

And can barely jog right now, let alone drive down on his Achilles with enough force to move 300 pound linemen 200 times a game.

I remember when Parcells use to talk about loving a situation like this. It can create massive mismatches in the passing game.

Yep...he told Quincy, "you'll be begging them to blitz."

Damn, that was 10 years ago.

Remember when the Redskins did exactly that in the final game of the 2012 season and Redball had no answer for it?

Garrett will keep calling for shots downfield and relying on Romo to "improvise" until the inevitable happens.

Yea, Garrett can't adjust for shit and is either stubborn as hell or too slow/stupid to react on the fly.

With that said, our OL was bottom 10 that year and should be at least top 10 or top 5 this year so teams will have to think twice about this strategy if the OL can consistently pick up the blitzes and give Romo time to make plays.

Garrett still let the Packers manipulate him into not running the ball and calling for quick 3 and outs last year. Not sure if Capers blitzed that much.

Even with a good OL, if teams can force the pass without defending the run, then we'll lose to any team with a smart DC.

It's not as though we have an innovative passing game out there. If we were running the Saints offense instead of the 1980s Chargers offense we might be able to create some of those mismatches. As it is, people know where we're going to line up and who we're going to throw to most of the time.
