Tony Romo might've given up off -season golf to rehab his ailing back, but that OTHER football? Not so much -- cause TMZ Sports has video of the Cowboys QB kickin' it hard on the soccer field.

Romo has made a big deal about putting down the golf clubs so he can rehab -- but he was back in Dallas this week, and back playing in the 6-on-6 indoor soccer league he's been a part of for the past couple of years.

The video speaks for itself -- Romo looks perfectly healthy and even a little quick out on the pitch, making some nice passes and firing a shot just wide of the goal.

FYI -- Tony's team won, which can only mean one thing ... It wasn't the playoffs.

He needed that extra weight to take the pounding that was inevitable behind our shit OL.

Luckily we should have one of the best in the league now.

Is Tony Romo preparing for the upcoming season by working on his soccer skills?

All signs have pointed to Tony Romo being able to fully participate when training camp starts later this month. Another positive step in his recovery from December back surgery is that it appears Romo is healthy enough to take in some indoor soccer.

Although he recently acknowledged giving up golf, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback has been known to spend his off-season time staying in shape by playing pickup basketball and soccer.

According to the entertainment news web site TMZ, that has continued. This roughly minute-long video shows what appears to be Romo, running around, dribbling and ripping a shot wide of the net.

Romo, who had a herniated disk surgically-repaired in late December, has said he is ahead of where he was a year ago when he had a cyst removed from his back in April 2013.

He also has plans to arrive in Oxnard,Calif., early to work on his conditioning and other football-related activities.

“I like the aspect of just going away for a few weeks and really pushing it to another level,” Romo said last month. “Just eat, sleep and drink football and working out and perfecting your craft, so I enjoy that.”

Romo was limited during organized team activities and minicamp. He participated in individual drills and some walk-through portions, but he did not get under center for team drills.
