Howard had to work way too hard that half and it probably would've been a disaster if the elements didn't cause some poor possession on their part.

But so far so good.

CONCACAF deserves some respect. 3 of the 4 advance. Nobody ever expects that.

Brazil, mildly unimpressive; Chile, fun to watch...it is too bad that Vidal is carrying that niggling injury.

I only get into soccer when the World Cup rolls around but I must say watching Brazil and Chile exchange penalty kicks will forever be etched in my memory.

What will make it so memorable is that I was in a huge shopping mall and me and about 200 or so south Floridians, and Central and South Americans were standing around one of the large TV's in the mall. The atmosphere was electric. These people were losing their damn mind after Chile missed that final kick. It was awesome. Chants broke out and I half expected some of the men to break out in hip gyrations like that kid at the Marlins game. AKA Little Ace.

Goal of the tournament so far by Rodriquez. Arguably best player of the world cup so far, certainly the biggest revelation.

Nice header to set up that goal. The ball movement during that entire sequence was fantastic.

Maybe to those who didn't know him, but those of us who follow Latin American footie have known for quite some time what a star he would be.

You're right, he's arguably the player of the tournament so far.

I was enjoying the World Cup until Ace used the term "footie."
