If anyone with ESPN Insider is willing to paste in Keith Law's most recent MLB mock I'd appreciate it.
I only saw the cubs pick was some women's softball player.

No matter. The Cubs will probably just supplement by raiding the Rangers' system in exchange for some mediocre pitcher who will not help the Rangers and will be a free agent at year's end.

Lol.

It took awhile but I can finally laugh at those trades now. Looks like Baltimore will try to be the first one to try for Smarzdfjsjjfnfdiidsa

Yeah, and honestly it's not like the Rangers gave up truly premium guys. I like the trades for the Cubs because they got a lot of very useful parts, but no one that's probably going to make a big impact. Olt still has a chance but so far hasn't shown he can hit for average. Good power though. Holding out hope for him. CJ Edwards looks like he has a chance to be legit but that still remains to be seen.

I've been hearing the Orioles and the Jays are going to be frontrunners for Samardzija. The organization is kind of a mess right, otherwise I think they'd be wise to just extend Samardzija. Otherwise what...they're going to probably get one premium pitching prospect (+ a couple others prospects) that may someday possibly be as good as him? Don't love that.

Baltimore has some serious top level arms in their system. If the Cubs can pry Dylan Bundy from them I'll be thrilled, but I'm not counting on that. I'd be good with Kevin Gausman as well. He's been shitty in his limited MLB appearances, but that's just over 50 innings so it's not something I would worry about much. Not sure I love the lefty Eduardo Rodriguez but Hunter Harvey? Yes, please.

All the Rangers top prospects are either on the team or too far away right now. Luke Jackson is at AA and the rest are in A right now. I expect Gallo, Alex Gonzalez, and Jorge Alfaro will move up soon and Daniels said promotions were coming in June. Those four are the ones I'm really looking forward to seeing.

Cubs prospect Kris Bryant will not turn down for anything
May 28, 2014, 6:15 pm
TONY ANDRACKI

By now, there's no doubt you've seen or heard of the ridiculous season Cubs prospect Kris Bryant is having.

Despite being more than two-and-a-half years younger than the average player in Double-A, Bryant entered play Wednesday leading the Southern League in homers, average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, OPS, total bases, hits and runs while also ranking second in RBI and fourth in walks. :towel (He's also struck out the second-most times in the league, so he's not completely superhuman.)

"He's gifted," Tennessee Smokies manager Buddy Bailey said in an interview with Mick Gillispie. "To do what he's done; he was playing college baseball this time last year, if you think about it. Finishing his college season 12 months ago and now he's at Double-A.

"He ran through the minor leagues quick from rookie ball to Daytona to get here, to start off and be one of the league leaders in every category - homers, up there in RBI, OBP, SLG - it's a tremendous thing. He's way ahead of the curve right now."

Bryant has been great since Day 1, but he has turned up his play since the calendar rolled over into May, hitting .387/.472/.731 over 25 games in the month with nine homers, 31 RBI and 26 runs.

In the last 10 games, Bryant has a .538 on-base percentage with 12 hits and nine walks (including four free passes Tuesday). The 22-year-old slugger carries a career 1.077 OPS in 86 minor-league games and continues to showcase his talent in every stage of the game.

The only question now is: When will he be promoted to Triple-A Iowa to join Javier Baez and Manny Ramirez?
----------------------------------------------

Bryant has crushed at every level of baseball in which he's ever played. He's going to be very good.

I still can't believe they hired Manny Ramirez as a player/coach at AAA Iowa. I think they probably just want him to spend some time with stud prospect Javier Baez, who is heating up big time after a slow start.

Gallo in particular. That dude is going to be a beast at the plate.

The team pushed it back a year by holding him down the first of this year. Probably pissed him off in the process, but hey.

When Singleton and Santana and Appel and Foltynewicz and Correa and McCullers are all up in the majors winning ballgames, I doubt anyone is going to be too disgruntled.

You guys do have a nice stockpile of talent. Not all will be with the team longterm, but they can also use them to get pieces if they are close enough to being legit.

Hey, I liked Boyz in the Hood as much as the next guy, but that was over 20 years ago.

Wilmer Flores got his freak on with 6 RBIs. Here is hoping he keeps it up.

RIP Don Zimmer.

Most know him for his time with the Yanks, but he's been a central figure in the Rays organization for over 10 years.

He did manage the Rangers for a couple of seasons but I remember him as a Cub as well.
