The Mets aren't punchless either. We raped you the first two games, runs wise...and are 5th in the NL in RS. My fellow Mets fan has no idea what he is talking about.
He's not that far off. I'd still say their "punchless". I know they scored a bunch of runs off the Yanks those first two games, but knocking around Vidal Nuno, Alfredo Aceves and Preston Claiborne in a hitters park is nothing to boast about. They are batting below .230 as a team and have the second worst OPS in baseball. David Wright has 2 HR's? Blame the ballpark?

I've heard Mets fans cry about CitiField, players whine about it and now the manager. Sure it's a pitchers park, but there's a lot of space in that OF. They should have a ton of doubles and triples in that place and quit whining about the HR's they lost. They have 4 triples all season. It's sad when an approaching 40 years old Brian Roberts had triples on back to back AB's the other night and he has 50% of your teams season long total of triples in less than an hour. I think the stadium is in their head. There are plenty other pitchers parks in baseball.

HITTER OF THE DAY: Joey Gallo, 3b — high Class A Myrtle Beach (Rangers)

Is there really anything left to say? Yes. Gallo went 4-for-4 with three homers, his second three-homer game this season and the fourth of his career, and now has 17 this season, leading the minor leagues. Gallo’s on pace to become the first minor leaguer to hit 50 since Ron Kittle did it for Edmonton of the PCL in 1982.

Yeah. He will probably move up to AA at the break. From there is just a short wait to the bigs and its getting exciting. I sure hope he pans out because that power is going to be fun to watch.

I guess I would allow him to be a throw in for a David Price deal this winter.

You couldn't handle the offense he brings.

I'm stoked to see if he can continue limiting his strikeouts in the bigs. He has done well this year in high A doing so. I just hope he can continue doing it in higher leagues.

Sure I could. With how our hitters have been this year, his 3 HRs a game would all be solo shots.
We are the opposite. We can get guys on base. But, we can't seem to get them home. It's frustrating as hell.

Yeah, he looks to have the potential to be a key piece for the Orioles in a few years.
Listen, we don't develop players for other teams to snatch up. Daniels had a long talk with Jerry on the subject.

Hate to do it but I'm throwing in the towel on the Braves' 2014 season.

Somehow they are still in 1st place with the most anemic Braves offense I've seen in my 25+ years of following the team.

Frank Wren needs to be fired at season's end for putting together this pathetic line up. Aside from Freddie Freeman it's just a bunch of guys who can't get on base and strikeout a lot.

Luckily we'll be able to move on from some of these scrubs after the 2015 season. Jason Heyward, Dan Uggla, Justin Upton...buh-bye. Unfortunately Wren's dumb arse felt the need to give BJ Upton a long term deal that goes into 2018.

I'm just hoping somewhere down the line they at least bring up some young OFs and simply use BJ as a platoon OF. He'll be making close to $17M per year but I wouldn't let his salary dictate playing time.

I really wish MLB had a amnesty rule like the NBA. BJ would be gone immediately.

Unless they pull off a big trade I've adjusted my expectations. 75 wins at best.

Right there with you 1Big.

Bye Bye Wash. You took us where we never have been before but stubborn loyalty will get you canned. Injuries are not an excuse for the same inconsistent anemic offense or piss poor defense. A cheerleader can only take this team so far. They need a kick in the balls and to start living up to their potential.

Age is getting to Beltre. Now a herniated disk in Fielders neck. Geez, that contract really is going to kill us if he cant come back. Big contract to an elite defensive punch and judy hitting shortstop. Power left the building in this lineup for some reason as well. I think Gallo is out homering the whole Ranger lineup combined.

That Andrus contract was ridiculous.

Maybe I'm just out of touch with the finances of today's MLB player, but IMO, Elvis has never done anything in his career to warrant that type of money.

He's a solid hitter but not one worth locking up for 8 years and $120M.
