I admire your bright outlook but I just don't see it happening.

2009.

'Nuff said.
I admire your pessimism regarding Jerry, because it's dead on. There is no reason to think he can successfully pull this off.

But I'm saying, if you did have a competent front office, instead of a gypsy trader, that would be a good idea here once the elite talents are gone.

Garrett hasn't said a word to anyone since Stephen tried to talk to him about the trade. He's mad!!!!!!!!!

To be fair, that could be a prime spot to steal more picks.

Which we really need. Let's face it... once Warmack, Cooper and Richardson were gone, it was down to leftovers anyway. Cutting bait and turning this into a quantity draft could be a good idea.
The trade means we are looking to trade completely out of the first.

That means we get totally fooled again.

It's 900 points, not 800. the difference is 190 points which amounts to a mid round 3rd round pick. Yeah, that's raped.

That was not a good trade. However, all the talk was that few teams wanted to move up so the offers were probably not stellar, and that the strength in the draft is in R3 and even R4. Remains to be seen.

So much for Garrett being a voice. He actually looks angry for first time ever.

Two reasons I'm pissed:
1) we got absolutely raped on that pick
2) we did the trade before we were even on the clock Why not wait and wait and wait and hope to get a better offer?
Seriously. If we moved down we should've stayed within 5-6 picks otherwise just stay put or great a deal for going down that far.
We move down 13 spots and only get mid 3rd in return.

I wouldn't be surprised if once our targets are gone we'll just trade out of the first altogether. Jerry never has a plan once with handful of targets get taken right ahead of us.

I wanted to trade down, but we should have gotten more out of a team with too many picks to start with. Even if it was some later round picks along with the third. There should be some excellent D-lineman and safeties left at 31.

If the past is any indicator Jerry will trade down again at 31 and we'll end up with some Robert Brewster clone and a handful of other picks that aren't on the team three years from now

The trade was for 74, not 95, which is not bad for moving down 13 spots when all the players are about the same. Guess Floyd really was a pure media creation.

Just have to laugh at spending all offseason studying who we might pick and then trading totally out of that range.
