If he signs with Seattle, for what I'm sure would be a relatively minimal type of deal, it's pretty clear Jerry isn't interested in anything but signing a bunch of vet min type of schlubs.

As long as it means they are just letting our joke of a hc play out his contract and plan on bringing in a semi-decent guy I have no problem with tanking this season

If we continue down this path with the DL that is what will happen, whether it's being done consciously or not.

Remember that tweet that "there is mutual interest between Dallas and Melton, something could be done quick"?

Yeah, me too.

you have to think Marinelli gets a pass this year with our defense. They haven't done jack shit to help him out. I seriously didn't think the defense could get worse from last year

There's still the draft. But so far you are correct. There hasn't been much in the way of help for the defensive front, two JAGS and a back up linebacker. Melton would help but we would still have mediocre players at the other 3 positions unless we draft d-line early. We have way to many holes on defense to have much of a shot this year, d-line, safety, linebacker. Maybe we are just clearing cap space and getting ready to rebuild, but if we are shouldn't we be dumping more? Carr could go if that's the case, I don't see that happening though so I'm not sure what the plan is.

I just dont think dumping Brandon Carr makes sense this year. I think next year he gets his release. Then we need CB help too, first round draft bust?

I thought he already visited us first?
I think the thought process was he lives in Dallas already so the assumption was that he already visited. Anyway, now I'm wondering if he is going on these other visits and not getting signed, what is wrong with him? Is the knee not healing correctly? Is his asking price too high? Or maybe he really wants Dallas since it is basically home for him. That's the only reason I can think of that a defensive player would want to sign in Dallas over a super bowl winner like Seattle. Or obviously because of money.

he is on the visit now with seattle, no? If we don't hear any news today, thats a very good sign I'd assume.

Seattle signed back Mcdaniel and Michael Bennett to a big deal, so here's to hoping they are finished with signing Linemen

He apparently is scheduled to visit next week.

Our coaches are currently out of town.

That's true but I think they were looking for a true pass rushing DT and neither of those guys fits the bill.

No. We don't fucking need a first rounder.

We need Tracy Porter or Richard Marshall on a short term deal. You are fine with guys like that; they haven't been any worse than Carr has. It's horrifying that we continue to entertain the idea of spending premium resources on that position when it is so depedent on other positions moreso than any other.

The DL is infinitely more important. Until the DL is an elite unit, it is completely worthless to spend early picks or big FA contracts on CBs. The only exception would be picks in the late first or second where the DB is far and away the BPA.
