Booze, I know you have Bridgewater going to Jax, but I don't think they're going QB.

After completely whiffing on Gabbert, I think they'll be scared to take a QB that high when none of them are a sure thing. Too many questions surrounding all 3 QB's and for that reason, I think they'll be scared to get burned with a pick that high.
That was the old regime and the new one is desperate to be competitive. They need a QB in the worst way.

Plus us I don't believe in the "none of these QBs are a sure thing" statements. Bridgewater has been legit since he started as a freshman. Bortles was unreal and commanded the offense like a Pro. Manziel has potential to be better than both.

It's cool we have discussion, but it would not kill you people to do a mock like Ace and I did.

I did mine a month ago. I'll update it as it gets closer and I don't want to give away my thoughts on specific players before the mock draft.

If we have one, that is.

Well, we all know Garrett has that fetish thing going on. Fasano, Bennett, yeah. But Jerry has it too since he signs off on the picks.
I blame Parcells. We never had a TE fetish until that man arrived in town.

that's right! When is tha Mayock?
Not sure if we are going to have one. Would like to, but I know I am not in the mood to do it unless we can get more participants and people who will actually commit to doing it right.

I'm down with doing it, but like you and a couple others, it gets really fucking frustrating when some of us commit a lot of time to it, and people can't even show up for their own pick or send in a list.

Or we are having to "recruit" just to get all the teams filled. Funny thing is, those guys we have had in the past sometimes did a better job fulfilling their obligation than our regulars who signed up.

So it's up to you guys...first get enough dedicated mockers, we can do it.

If we did do it, I'd propose changing the format for no shows. No more votes on picks. That tends to drag it in too. I'd say just pick one source that shows team needs and a best available list and match teams up.

I don't think they should even get that. I know people always say that they will be voted poorly for not showing but I don't their team should get the benefit of BPA. I don't know what the answer is outside of people just showing the hell up.

We have to have one, this draft is so deep, even if you try to fuck it up you look like a genius, case in point:

Your score is: 4673 (Drafting Ability: B, Player Quality A, Future Draft Picks: N/A)

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 20 (ARI): Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame (A)
Round 2 Pick 15: Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh (A)
Round 3 Pick 15 (BALT): Kareem Martin, DE, North Carolina (A-)
Round 3 Pick 17 (MIA): Marcus Martin, C, Southern California (B+)
Round 3 Pick 20 (ARI): Telvin Smith, OLB, Florida State (A)
Round 4 Pick 19: Bruce Ellington, WR, South Carolina (A)
Round 5 Pick 6 (SEA): Chris Watt, OG, Notre Dame (B)
Round 5 Pick 18: Charles Sims, RB, West Virginia (A)
Round 7 Pick 14: Ricardo Allen, CB, Purdue (A)
Round 7 Pick 17 (IND): Jeff Janis, WR, Saginaw Valley (A-)
Round 7 Pick 19 (MIA): Howard Jones, OLB, Shepherd (B-)

We could do a DCC/DCU merge, as I remember they are having trouble filling all slots too. Even the Zzzzzzzzzzzzone had 3 or 4 empty slots.

BPA is best because it keeps the integrity of the mock.

Just doesn't seem right to me that someone who doesn't show up gets a good pick, and the person behind them is sitting their waiting and gets their choice taken from them because someone doesn't show up.

That's better than the person behind him voting for a player they don't want hoping theirs falls.

That site has a lot of players misranked and really does not take into account how the stock changes from week to week.

Case in point...there is no way in hell a player like Aaron Donald takes home all the in-season trophies, blows up the Combine and Sr. Bowl, yet is available middle of the second round.

Plus some of the trades offered are insane...a 3rd to drop a spot in the first? GTFO.

It is fun to kill time, but that's it.

This was a kind of how I see it rolling kind of thing. Trust me, I don't even like Trent Murphy, but hey, he's a ginger and that would be just like us.

And I have seen Dallas get hung up on a player, see him get taken and then sulk. That's what I see us doing if they cannot get Donald. They will just talk themselves into the fact that everyone else is a one-technique and lose focus.
Crichton over Murphy, come on, easy call.

And I might take Barr over Martin, though I don't hate the Martin pick.
