Kiffin probably hired out a Chinese bot farm to defend him

I don't get the issue with Lane Kiffin. Do people not expect him to take a better opportunity?
Its because of his past. It just adds on but if you look at his resume he generally doesn't stay long anywhere. They should have been expecting this and actually stayed longer than the usual 3 years or less at Ole Miss.

Plus he is a douchenozzle.

I think the issue is that given where he has Mississippi right now it's probably unlikely LSU is that much better of an opportunity.

But maybe he has double the NIL budget at LSU or something, I don't know.

It's a timing thing. You have a top team going into the college football playoffs. It's sort of a big deal for the fans and the school. And your coach is bailing on you for a team that's a dumpster fire right now.

On a side note, why do college programs not have contracts to prevent this? Obviously your head coach can't bail in the NFL like this.

Aesthetically, it looks very bad and disloyal to the players. I don't blame them for being mad.

That has to be brutal as a player. College football is just such a weird free for all these days. No one has any loyalty to the program, not player and not coach. Everyone is just a mercenary and you don't know what you will get from one year to the next.

Agree. I'm afraid they're on a path to ruination, ultimately.

Yep, they're flying too close to the sun trying to maximize profits like they're the NFL when they aren't.

For better or for worse the NFL and Goodell in particular operate like organized mafia and wouldn't let shit like this fly because they rule the league with an iron fist. The NCAA is a joke though and have basically abdicated any role in managing this shit.

Reminds me of when Petrino went to the NFL.

And then ditched the Dolphins to go to Arkansas.
