But beyond that, Ferguson physically looked as good as he has all season. He was actually breaking tackles and getting yac again. He was getting separation from the LBers and catching the ball really well. If Lamb just looked off his game, Ferguson was like the opposite. He looked like he was on a mission when he got the ball in his hands. And I haven't seen that all season long.
Maybe he is physically better. On one of his radio shows even a month or so into the season, he said his back still wasn't right from that time Murray hit him in training camp, if anyone remembers that.

Could be, he seemed to be protecting himself from the hits earlier in the year. But against Philly he looked aggressive running the ball again. Reminded me more of the Ferg we saw earlier in his career where he just didn't want to go down.

Hard to say since playing with a prime Lamb is different than 1st/2nd year Lamb, although I don't think Cooper was ever as dominant as Pickens has been right now.

I think prime Cooper and this version of Lamb is probably a toss-up with what we're seeing, maybe a slight lean towards Lamb/Pickens because Pickens brings an element that you don't get from either Lamb or Cooper, although I don't think this is prime Pickens yet either.

Pickens is just about to start entering his prime over the next 2 years, as long as he can keep his head on straight and everybody stays healthy I think this duo has the potential to be one of the best WR combos over the last 20ish years.

Also, didn't Cooper have a bad habit of performing poorly in road games? I'm not seeing that from GP at all.

Cooper was more streaky. But goddammit he was a hell of a route runner. Bigger receiver but played way different than Pickens. Pickens is physically imposing. Cooper was good sized but he beat you with his route running and speed. Pickens is just physically a monster with his size and arm length.

I vaguely remember something like that but there's so many variables to that (Dak's play, etc.) that I wouldn't make that a defining point of comparison.

That's a fair point but I would choose this version of Pickens over any version of Cooper every day of the week.

Same, if for no other reason than he fits better with Lamb, but I do think what Pickens is doing this year is more impressive than anything we saw out of Cooper.

I said it last night but I truly believe that we could be looking at something historically special between Pickens/Lamb over the next 3-5 years. A duo that is special enough to potentially be up there with some of the all-time great duos of the last 20-30 years.

Holt/Bruce, Moss/Carter, Harrison/Wayne and so forth.

The thing is that both Pickens and Lamb will be in their prime over the next 3-5 years, while Dak largely will be as well.

With some of those duos you had aging guys (Carter, Harrison) or unstable QB play (Cunningham and whatever followed in Minnesota) so there was maybe only a 2-3 year overlap of guys in their prime along with the necessary QB play, if that.

All we need is for these whores who run the team to unclench their ass cheeks and get out their checkbook.

Hopefully, the tangible results they've gotten from their mid-season moves will inspire them to do more.

That was Dak’s best game, I think. Don’t want to be hyperbolic after a win, but given the stakes, his leadership, the key critical plays vs the defending champ with the leagues best record capped by his somersault TD… I don’t think he’s ever been that clutch a performer vs that level of competition

Shows what a situationally strong defense can do for a really good QB, give him the opportunity to be great.

So ironic for him to achieve this on a day when numerically he becomes the Cowboys all-time passing yardage leader

His 2016 game at Pittsburgh is right up there with this one.
I have to believe that is one of my favorite all time Cowboy games. At least its one that has stuck in my head and I tend to rewatch the highlights on Youtube ever so often. Goodnight Irene. The lead changes. Beating that POS Rothisberger after he does the fake spike. Zeke can run the ball. We can execute a screen pass. Just so much fun in that game and I was a bundle of emotions.

Yea no QB can do anything with a defense playing like it was the first half of the year, in 2020, in the Packers playoff game, etc., even though Dak was plenty to blame himself during those games/stretches either.

The defense needs to be decent enough for Dak and the offense to not feel like they have to constantly stretch to keep the team in the game.

And having a strong running game helps a ton but that's any QB.
