Not sure you can win championships with these OTs. Everyone say the offense is elite. That's bullshit. It isn't elite on the road for sure. It has fatal flaws at OT.
Shouldn't have traded Asim Richards.

Perhaps Nate Thomas can be one, and kick Tyler Smith out to be another.

Doubt they move Smith. They have resisted it almost to the detriment of the team in the past due to injuries.

Although I wonder since they already paid him and wouldn't have to pay Tackle money if they would now?

yeah agreed. I actually think we are going to beat Philly too in Dallas. Then lose the KC and Det games and be 6-6-1 with 4 games left.
The Eagles finally have their shit together and are becoming what they should be based on their talent. I can't see how they could lose to Dallas on any field right now barring injuries to Barkley and Carter. Our defense is utter dogshit. Revel and Overshown back fully healthy tomorrow would only add to the confusion.

I think we are going to beat a couple more bad teams and lose to every credible playoff team on our schedule. We might get to 7-10 if we're lucky

I'm not so sure the eagles have their shit together. The Giants were set up to fail in that game.

The eagles play the Packers and Lions coming up, we'll see how well they have their shit together.

They are likely to beat us though.

We need to trade Guyton now, for whatever we can get for him.

Hard disagree.

I already think he wouldn't get much in return.

We'd be much better off if he turns it around for us than trading him for pennies on the dollar when his value is at its lowest.

Agreed, they won a nail biter against a Vikings team where Wentz was trying to give the game away, then beat a meh Giants team at home.

I'm pretty confident that we'll win that game even with our shit hole defense.

you’re more than likely right. It’s just a gut feeling I have. It seems like one of those games that everyone thinks we’re going to lose, but we play well and win. Then we shit the bed the next week and the cycle repeats.

I think the problem with the rebuild is that it puts the most stress on the least competent part of our organization. I’d trust them more with 5 swings at rebuilding a defense, than 10 swings to rebuild a team, because there will obviously be misses.

We are tied to Dak for the next couple of years. Him, CeeDee, Schotty, Osi, Bland, Smith, Booker- this is their window. When it fails, we move on.

Probably little to nothing honestly. You'd have to find someone like Quinn who has coached the guy and loves him.

You would think someone would still be enamored with him enough to send us a 4th or so for a former 1st round pick who would probably benefit from a change of scenery.

I understand I sound reactionary, but it's in response to a pattern of fucking up I'm seeing happen time and again. I'm wondering if this guy is fundamentally playing out of position as an NFL LT.

It happens, sometimes even the best college LT's are not suited to it in the NFL (Zack Martin, for example).

I'd clearly favor a move to RT if Guyton's better suited to it, and we are truly set along the interior of Smith-Beebe-Booker and so I don't see a destination for him there.

Frankly we are contractually married to Steele at least through 2026, and that's the way we couch the trade, that we've got a raw talent who's not a fit at LT and we don't have a spot for him.

Now is the time to move...

The teams that your best trade partners--
1) Folks who loved him in the 2023 draft and that memory is rapidly dying as there are now 8 new GM's since the 31 titled NFL GM's in 2023 (the Pats had Belichick)
2) Teams he had dominating performances against (prolly diddly and squat)
3) Teams scouting current talent (his 52.7 overall grade is 66th of 77 graded tackles on PFF-- big zero there)
4) Those who think they can salvage a legit 1st round pick who's still on his rookie contract.

Number 4 alone could be worth a 2026 3rd/4th round pick given how much even an average backup is going to cost you.

Every year you wait, my gut says this guy will continue to disappoint and his value will only decline as rookie contract years burn away and new GMs enter the league.

If I thought Jerry would even TRY him at RT, I'd have a different opinion, but Steele's contract says otherwise.

He's going to get Dak killed, and I'd rather have Nathan in there frankly

This isn't true. I believe we save more than $8 million by cutting him this offseason. 2025 is the last year we're married to Steele.

I don't think Guyton has been as bad as people say. But I'd certainly be open to Guyton at RT and Thomas at LT.

But either way I don't think it's time to move on from Guyton yet. He needs to stay healthy and play. We knew he'd be a project when he was drafted so we should stay patient.

And by the way, the real problem is that we stupidly keep investing first round picks on guards. Tyler Smith was a good pick but why the frick have we always insisted on him being a guard? He'd be a very good LT.

And then doubling down and doing it again with Booker was really stupid.

They just aren't getting enough bang for the buck with these first round guards.

Conversely Bass is seemingly a really solid starting OG, we could easily move Tyler to LT and start Bass and Booker at OG but they seemingly refuse to move Tyler.

Just because Im so skeptical with these shitbirds I wonder if them not moving him to OT was that they would have to pay more for the extension.

Possibly and that could mean they're more open to shifting him in the future, but we have to wait for Guyton to crater before that happens. As long as he's hovering around average they won't make a move, maybe just back to RT with Thomas playing LT, but nothing more than that.
