Why is this a "wow"?

For every trade that gets made in the league, there are probably about 100 that are "rebuffed".

And honestly rebuffed doesn't necessarily mean "never". Things could change next week. And now you've already sent out feelers so if either team changes their mind, they know who to turn to.

That's how things work.

Maybe something comes of it, maybe nothing does.

But "nothing does" 100% of the time if you don't risk that initial rebuff in the first place.
