This is why when Jerry dies things will be better, no matter what anyone says.
Stephen might refuse to hire a GM, and he might still be terrible at managing the cap and extensions, but at the very least he won't be a carnival barker that gets up and talks complete nonsense.
Stephen sucks in his own way, but he does have clear benefits compared to how it used to be (more focused on a sane draft process, etc.) whereas Jerry's strength used to be that he was aggressive making moves, in FA, etc.
Well that Jerry is gone and all we're left with is him talking nonsense and ginning up stories for no good reason. I don't believe he has much influence with the day to day anymore but he's still a distraction who purposely creates controversy and God only knows how much dysfunction behind the scenes in terms of undermining coaches, etc.
Worst case scenario once Stephen is in charge is that he'll just continue what he does now and be a curmudgeon in front of a mic, but that's still better than having him do what he does now plus Jerry being a fucking dunce any chance he gets.
