Dez also had a pretty serious injury that he probably returned from too soon in 2015, I think that had more to do with the drop off than lacking desire.

Diggs packed it in as soon as he tore his ACL, which isn't really that serious of an injury anymore in terms of getting back to 100%.
Right. You still have to work your ass off in rehab to get back to what you were. This guy would probably rather be snorting the pink coke with his brother and fat hookers.

Who even knew he had "episodes"?

Why do I get the feeling this is going to be some racist rant on whitey making up this injury to keep him down or is this just what society these days has programmed me to go to now?

Hopefully race isn't involved, but yeah, probably something about how the big bad league is shortchanging the players, etc.

I hate to say this because it doesn't seem fair, but as big a diva as his brother is, it's not a surprise that he is, too.

Nah, that's why we drafted Revel. That dude has stud potential. Revel and Bland are going to be this teams future at corner.
It'd be nice if the stupid whores running the team could figure out how to get an extension done (Bland) without waiting until the last minute. The franchise tag should not be an option with him, and should not be used to continue negotiations unless they want to fuck themselves even further, so if they have two brain cells to rub together they'd be trying to get something done in the next few months, assuming they want to keep him.

That's how it should be. Pay Bland a good but not top contract, let Revel play his rookie third round deal, and forget about corner for a few years.

It's just what they do which is so stupid. Bland could blow his knee out and he will still get paid by the Cowboys. So why exactly wait? Something about tea leaves.

But ultimately I expect Diggs to get the boot after this year and Bland to get a contract. I think they have to wait on Diggs for now because of contract stuff but I'd be surprised if he is in Dallas after this season.

He has almost no dead cap after this year, so it's pretty obvious what they're doing.

Ideally he comes back and plays well for like 8 games and we can trade him somewhere for like a 4, but knowing these idiots they'll just cut him and he'll go straight to Washington, and probably play well for 2-3 years.

I have heard zero about this. And honestly before the draft I heard the extreme opposite. I guess time will tell but I'm not sure how much I trust thelandryhat.com and Glenn "Stretch" Smith for my insider info. Especially when the article suggests he could be "off the roster." Do they even know the Cowboys? No fifth round pick is getting cut. The guy could take a shit on Jerry's desk and not get cut.

Smith used to be on with Galloway and Mosley, he's pretty good. And he's a UT guy. So there could be some truth to this.

Edit, watching the video now, Smith is pretty specific with his examples so I suspect that's what he heard about Blue. If it is true, Blue obviously has plenty of time to change his attitude, but not a great early sign.

And I think Smith is dead on about the NIL influence. Wouldn't be a shock if some of these guys especially from the highest-paying programs don't really comprehend how difficult the NFL is. And that they better really love the game if they're going to a much more difficult league and job when they aren't getting much of a bump in pay.

Also, I don't really get Mosher's point about, "The first time he makes a 20 yard run we won't care about this." Just because a player makes a good play doesn't mean being lazy doesn't matter. Did some of these guys ever play organized football?

I wouldn't be surprised if any/all of that were true about Blue.

He's a really excellent talent, arguably a better version of Pollard, but he clearly has concentration/focus issues based on his drops/fumbles and he dropped to damn near the end of the 5th, so there could definitely be something there.

Yeah I have a hard time watching the video because it just looks so amateurish but I just watched the part about Blue as well. The article made it sound like way bigger of a deal than what was actually said. Basically sounded like someone in the building told Smith a concern. And it kind of sounded like it was over Blue not working out with the team and maybe complaining at OTA's about an injury or not feeling great. Sounds sort of mild to me. That "Stretch" guy is a bit different. But I'd say I believe that someone in the Dallas building complained to him about Blue.

Wasn't there an issue with the production and being questioned about his ability up until midseason? I thought I remember hearing that on the local sports talk shows around here.

@Texas Ace am I remembering wrong?

If true then it would support this concern.

I'm not overly worried about Blue, we just need him to be a change of pace, 8-10ish touch per game guy similar to what Pollard was for years. We'll be able to cobble enough neutral down/short-yardage stuff from Williams/Sanders and maybe even Mafah.

I think we should tap the brakes on Revel. He has potential but we have no idea what he's going to look like in the pros or if he'll even get and stay healthy.

Potential is there but we shouldn't be counting on that until we see it and see it consistently.

Shavon Revel Jr., CB, Dallas Cowboys

A big opportunity awaits the third-round rookie, who will almost certainly see starting reps when the season begins, as Trevon Diggs is still recovering from a January knee surgery and could start the season on the PUP list. Only DaRon Bland is emphatically above Revel on the depth chart, but Bland might be destined for the slot position vacated by Jourdan Lewis. Beyond Bland, Revel is fighting with trade acquisition Kaiir Elam and 2024 fifth-rounder Caelen Carson for outside snaps.

Like Morrison, Revel fell in the draft for injury concerns. But before his 2024 season was cut short by an ACL tear, Revel was a dominant small-school corner with 16 pass breakups and three interceptions over 15 games. If Revel looks healthy in camp, expect to see him starting against A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith in the first game of the 2025 season.
