So a friend of mine made a great point.
He said he doesn't think Trump wants a war, but that Israel was pressuring and pressuring him into one. And when Israel started trying to play the "But they'll get Nukes!" argument, Trump basically decided to bomb Iran to SPITE Israel.
As in... "There. We bombed their nuke sites. Now they have no nukes. Happy? Now you can stop bitching about a war because they don't have nukes anymore."
Basically calling Israel's bluff. If the nuke argument is off the table, there's no more need for a war, and Trump with one strike, Top Gun Maverick-style, took Israel's argument for a prolonged offensive off the table as well.
Kinda brilliant in a "no bullshit, I get things done and screw the consequences," type way, which is exactly what Trump is always about. He just says and does shit and doesn't play the games.
Which is what everyone always says they want a politician to be, by the way.
His "neither country knows what the fuck they are doing," comment this morning strengthens this view IMO.
