I would feel better also.

But not totally better because the problem is that I don't think guard was really a need, or at least could have been addressed much later. They already had 4 big needs and only 3 top 100 picks to address them with.

So now even if they take one of the good remaining RBs and WRs, they are out of top 100 picks to address DT and CB.

Taking Booker at 12 just wasted the potential of a very good asset when we put ourselves in a position to not really be able to afford to do that. It's very hard to make up for that.
Well said.

What a stupid fucking way to build a team. React to what our opponents are dominating at rather than establishing something dominant ourselves.
We're going to have a dominant interior OL at the very least, if Guyton can become a passable starter it'll probably be a dominant OL in general.

Just heard on NFL radio that the possible trade down that Houston was offering was for future picks only. The Cowboys wanted picks for this year, so the deal stalled. Didn't sound like it included next years first, so they said no.

No idea if this is true or not.
Still should take it. Accumulating future picks really helps.

Without the future first, I'm not interested. Sounds like they were offering the future 2nd and whatever else. Pretty big drop for that little, and sure... it's easy to say in hindsight who we could have got at their spot. But no way to know that when we were on the clock. Who went from 25 and on would interest you?

If it's future picks only, and not a first, it would've had to have been at least next year's 2 and 3, anything less than that is a hard pass to move from 12 to 25.

And there's no legit reason why they couldn't flip a couple of the future assets to a different team for assets this year if they really wanted to.

I will say that if Javonte Williams is healthy he is better than any RB we had on our roster since 2019 Ezekiel Elliott. Yes I think Williams is better than Pollard if healthy.

However it’s probably smart to have a second RB who is better than Rico Dowdle as well so I’d still like to draft a Day 2 back.

We desperately need a WR, probably 2 WRs really, but it looks picked over to me and I don’t think the class was good to begin with.

Ideally you are right but if it’s a future 2nd, 3rd and 5th, that might get it done.

I mean in all fairness I think we are trying to develop a dominant Oline.

I don’t hate that idea and honestly I don’t hate the pick. It’s just in combination with the rest of their retarded approach it’s infuriating.

I probably would have gone Warren. Jake Ferguson isn’t an impact player.

I’m warming up to the pick. Feel better about it than when we drafted LVE, Byron Jones and Taco.
