We better hope or it's back to the LT pick we go.
Yeah, I'm glad we at least have some good Oline coaches now. People that can hopefully actually help the kid develop. (OC and Oline coach)

They're not going to not draft a RB and trade for one of the guys that are rumored to be on the block are they? So many draftable RB's.

Will they do the same at WR?
I don’t know, Tony D. What do you think?

safe pick
Yeah I mean I don't see any weakness with him that I'm afraid of. He moves pretty well in the phone booth (Picking up stunts and switching off for example). He gets to the second level. So yeah, safe is the perfect word. You plugged a really good player in with a premium pick at a position that carries a low value in the NFL.

So how would people have felt about this?

I have to say, even though I'm wary of Nolen's character, I'd have been more excited about this. At least he has great potential. -- his quickness for someone that big is really impressive. I'm worried Booker's limited athleticism might hold him back at this level.
Definitely prefer Booker.

Nolen is light against the run and even though Booker won't be a HOF'er, he's going to give us one of the best interior OL's in the league, set a physical tone and allow us to play bully ball.

If we can get some RB talent.

I think there's a good chance if Dak stays on the field.
As we are right this second I would say no. If we get 2 more starters with one of them being a badass RB I think we could sort of Dak's rookie year this thing into the playoffs.

But ultimately the defense feels really vulnerable to the pass right now. And if we have to play catchup to someone we will get slaughtered. You need more than Lamb. The run defense is obviously a big concern too.

I'll wait to see what we do in round 2 and 3. Without a good RB none of this works though.

Don’t get to pick this high very often. Feels like a pick had we been a wildcard team
I think a lot of this is the fact that this class isn't as strong as last year and the talent was kind of flat between basically 6-7ish and 20ish.

Last year guys who went in the 10-20 range might've been top 10 this year, like Bowers, Verse, Byron Murphy and Dallas Turner.

Even the guys at the top of my list wouldn't have felt like grand slams, both Golden and Harmon are guys who go around 20ish most years (and did this year also).

Based on my list I had Booker at 18, so it was a bit of a reach but I don't think there's a massive gap between him and the guys towards the top of my list in terms of pure talent or what sort of outcomes you can expect.

Warren was the best pure talent on the board but would he even be as impactful in Dallas over the next 2-3 years than a good starting OL?

Debatable.

The Giants will still suck.
That’s optimistic. Their problem has been they have no functioning QB. They just drafted an absolute beast on defense and Russel Wilson can still win football games.

I get it, it’s the Giants, but they are at least making moves that tell you they aren’t complacent with being a basement dweller.

Dallas on the other hand acts like they don’t have to make obvious moves because they trust their process. A process that has yielded exactly dick in 30 years.

I think Wilson is toast.

Exactly. This is like when the perennial playoff teams who are in the 20s have good players fall to them. Yes, they're good players, but they aren't high-value positions.

Seems like we could have done more and better.

I'll wait to see what we do tonight before I slam the Booker pick.

He's a good player but the Cowboys desperately need playmakers. WR and RB are far bigger needs than an IOL.

Two WRs who I really like, Higgins ad Burden, are still out there. The Ohio State RBs are still in play as well.

If they can walk out of tonight with one of the top remaining WRs and a RB, that Booker selection doesn't look so bad, IMO.
