Seahawks won’t sell NFC Championship tickets to fans from California

Sorry 49ers fans.

By NICK SCHWARTZ 56 minutes ago @Nick_Schwartz

Are you a 49ers (or Seahawks) fan in California hoping to see the NFC Championship game in person next Sunday at CenturyLink Field? Good luck finding a ticket.

Tickets go on sale Monday, but the Seahawks are restricting sales to fans with billing addresses in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Alaska, Hawaii, and the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta. Fans with billing addresses in California will have to resort to secondary market services like StubHub, where the cheapest available ticket is currently going for $459.

There is no damn way I would pay 460 bucks to go see a game. I don't care what game it was.

I paid 300 per ticket to watch us lose to the cardinals in AZ.

That was maybe 10 years ago.

I'd spend that if it was a game I really wanted to see.

As would I. If I had that kind of money to burn and it was a big enough game, sure I'd do it. I'd have been even more likely in my younger and more single days.

Any Dallas Cowboy game out there is gonna cost over $300 per ticket to sit in the lower level, FWIW, unless you get them straight from the team -- and they don't sell them outside Texas either, as of last time I called in.

$459 for Championship game seats would be a steal if it was a Cowboys game.

Steal or not, I wouldn't pay it. I had rather watch it at home than pay that much to have to deal with the crowds and traffic.

Seattle was sold out within minutes according to a relative of mine who lives there.

On the face of it, I'd say yeah I'd pay nearly 500 to watch an NFC title game live (provided my team was in it).

But then the longer I thought about it, thinking of all the things I could buy with that money, how much better the presentation is on television, how horrible I'd feel watching a loss like that live, etc.... I'd talk myself out of it.

Fortunately, like Booze said, I'll never have to worry about making that decision.

Thanks Jerry.

:lol @ poor people
I can afford it. I just think it's silly to pay that much when I can sit at home and drink much cheaper beer and not have to deal with the stupid people.
