I think Manziel will be the third QB taken but that doesn't mean he would be third on my list. In all fairness I didn't bother to watch UCF or Bortles much. Probably has something to do with the fact that UCF plays in a conference that is barely a step up from Conference USA. Of course I did watch Bridgewater but that was strictly because I knew who he was coming into this season.

Why is one of the main knocks on Manziel is he only throws it up for Evans when in reality he spreads the ball around quite abit

Nobody says he doesn't spread the ball, but everyone knows where he goes with it when running around and plans to throw deep.

So he should not use his best wr just to show he can hit other wrs deep??

What sucks? That JF's deep completion % is inflated by the all world teammate he has? I think that's obvious to everyone.
Cool...so you are Barry would have run for more yards than Emmitt if he was in Dallas guy.

Even worse when people use stats to try to explain this game.
It applies here whether you like it or not...particularly in the 11-20 yard routes...which is what NFL QBs are asked to throw many of. Also...the lame throw it up to Evans argument does not apply here either.

Pretty much sums it up. Not saying I agree that Bortles or Bridgewater is better talent-wise, just saying I bet they go before Manziel.

No, that's a stupid hypothetical. JF throwing jump balls to Evans is fact.
That does not explain the lower percentage in the 11-20 range though. So there is that.

Cherry picking one quadrant of the field to make a point is lame. Bortles' comp % in all other areas of the field as well as total is higher.

Thats not a knock on JF, just fact.

You said he had a stronger arm and was more accurate...which was wrong.

No it isn't. JF had a higher percentage on the 20+ yard throws as well. Bortles only complete a higher percentage on throws less then 10 yards.

I actually don't think Dez would have the same kind of success with Manziel as Mike Evans did. That guy is a physical specimen who has a knack for getting the ball at the highest point and coming down with it. Dez doesn't fight for the ball nearly as hard in jump ball situations.
This is totally false, for one Evans does not have nearly the body control that Dez has and he did not have a lot of jump balls thrown to him. Toward the end of the year teams were taking him out of the game, and Manziel had to go other places and still put points on the board.

I don't know who is better Manziel or Bortles but to try a paint his success as throwing it up to Evans is way off the mark his leading receiver last year was Ryan Swopes who was hardly a physical specimen.
