Look at this statline:

9/19, 34 yds, 1.79 YPA , 0/2 for 14.5 rating.

That, my friends, is an all time statline for an NFL QB playing an entire game.

It gets better. Q only completed to two guys, and poor Joey Galloway had 6 catches for 18 yards, one of which went for 11 yards. So , he had 5 catches for 7 yards the rest of the game. We only had 127 yards total in the game.

He faced a tough D, but he couldn't hit anyone in that game.

Guys wide open just 8 yards in front of him were being overthrown and underthrown.

It was incredible how poorly Quinthy played in that game. He didn't throw one single spiral that afternoon.

It was his first NFL start, and he shouldn't have been on the field to begin with. That was Jerry's bright idea. Also, he probably sensed the 9/11 attacks coming two days later and couldn't concentrate.

I remember the week after, he broke his thumb in practice and missed a bunch of time.

They must have seriously worked on his mechanics while he was out because when he came back, he actually started throwing spirals and was a lot more accurate.

But that day? That is an all-time bad performance for QB play.

Worse than Quincy Carter in that 2001 season opener vs Tampa Bay?

THAT is easily the worst QB play I have ever seen.

I saw some of Laufenberg, and he sucked, but I was a kid then. I remember Pelluer's play more than Laufenberg's.

I was at that game. I remember leaving and looking back at Quincy holding his head and kneeling down. I sort of felt bad for Quincthy, but he probably just got high on crack and forgot about it.

These younguns don't understand just how bad Babe was. Sure Quincy had a bad game and was overall a bad QB, but watching Babe was like watching a high school JV QB playing against the '85 Bears.

As bad as QC was, Laughingstock was worse. Quincy at least flashed competence every now and again, and dare I say even looked decent a time or two. I don't ever remember Laughenberg resembling a serviceable QB when he was in a game. I like him as an announcer, though.

He was a complete abortion of a QB. His wind up release was terrible.

Ahh.....I see we are reliving the Babe Laufenberg 1990 performance.

That was brutal. I just remember the Cowboys needing 1 win to qualify for the playoffs and that POS completely stunk it up the final 2 games of the year.

The Cowboys were on a roll heading into those games and that SOB completely derailed the season.

For those too young to remember.....Remember Todd Collins pathetic performance in the playoffs a few years ago when he replaced an injured Cutler and Caleb Hanie eventually had to come in to replace the ineffective Collins? That was how Laughenberg looked. Scared and completely over-matched.

I recognize that stateline anywhere. That was Quincy's first career start versus Tampa Bay. No need to Google.

I vividly remember Warren Sapp praising Quincy's performance during the post game interview. Mouthful of dip Sapp proclaims that "Quincy's going to be a good one. And that he did a lot of good things out there."

That said, I still rank Babe's performance as a worse one than Quincy's. I have to factor in experience. Quincy was an over-matched rookie going against a staunch defense and perennial Super Bowl contenders. Babe was a veteran QB who'd been in the league several years.

I did not know that he thought that highly of Emmitt at that time.
