What's the contract status of McCarthy and Dak? Are they both up at the end of next season?

I don't think McCarthy can come back, but Jones will also not want to pay an entire fired coaching staff, plus whoever he gets in here. I think Belichick would end up a lot like Parcells, maybe some temporary improvement but basically where McCarthy ended up.

The QB is what he is at this point. Emotionally fragile choke artist whose eyes get wide at the first sign of adversity. No coach is going to be able to change what he is. We should move on from him but we won't. Phil asked when we would bottom out? Probably shortly after the contract extensions for Dak, Lamb and Parsons. Let him play next year and then go be a free agent.

Next year is the last on both deals.

The defense was awful. No question.

But this notion that there's nothing Dak could do about that? I don't know.

Dak is like 20% of the team's salary cap. How about match the Packers score for score? That's why he's getting elite money.

They want a shootout, give them a shootout. Score TDs on the next 3 drives also. Keep your team in the game. The Packers defense isn't exactly the 85 Bears.

Instead he turtled.
He played like shit. However, did you see guys running open in the secondary? I said it yesterday, the Packers had guys running open, the Lions, the Rams, the Texans, today I'm sure the Bills will.

We've had games where guys our running open all game. Not yesterday. You want to blame Dak for that? Ok. I blame McCarthy and his scheme/playcalling. He got thoroughly outcoached by his replacement in embarrassing fashion.

There may be an upside to yesterday’s debacle in that it was a test to see if Dak should continue being the so called franchise QB. He failed the test that many thought ( and possibly still do) that he was an elite proven asset. Instead it seemed to prove that he reached his abilities ceiling with inferior systems but in the situations that really counted he couldn’t cope with the stress that is called for when dealing with high pressure situations. I would like to think that this is finally settled in everyone’s mind now.

There are more situations within the teams make up that are in need of fixing as well. I don’t say that the QB problem is a cure all because the entire teams performance is lacking in both personnel and coaching but is ok when playing inferior opponents. The next step to winning seems to fail at every level as well. Dallas has a good makeup but pretends it’s great with the help of the media hype.

But at a minimum maybe the Dak hype will finally be laid to rest as to the question of being a franchise QB.

Sharpe says it is obvious that the coaches don’t evaluate and change their tendencies. The packers D was sitting on plays they run a lot.

Interesting. Because this is the same complaint that has been plaguing us for over a decade, that defenses know what we are doing.

So how many different OCs can't fix this issue?

Maybe it's the culture or the shitty QB.

I would.

I haven't heard of a better solution.
I might see MM staying, getting credit for 3 consecutive years of 12 wins plus postseason play. Helping Dak to a strong year, only to see the bad resurface Dak at crunch time.

But then again, asking Dak to throw the ball 60 times is courting disaster. Which highlights the lack of a running game, a personnel failure that's on Jerry/Stephen.

Quinn should be out the door already. His failure yesterday is larger in my eyes.

  • No QB pressure (isnt that supposed to be our calling card?)
  • No run D, per usual
  • No takeaways (Love looked far better than Dak)
  • No TFL's
  • Doubs and Musgrave owned the secondary outright

How could they possibly play worse?

Quinn's HC opps just fizzled up; his stock sucks about now.

I think the pick 6 is a perfect example.

Whoever the next defensive coordinator is needs to get Micah Parsons' ass off the DL full time.

Every year its the same story. He starts the season off fast, then he wears down and isn't nearly as effective the final 6-8 weeks of the season.

It's been 3 years of the same shit. Time to adjust how you use him.
Either that, or get the man some bonified help to pair with him.
