But think about it. Say a person earns $60K a year for a family of four...they can get food stamps.

Two earners working full-time earning $50K and have to pay for baby sitters etc., that is not a good deal for anybody.

Yeah, we pay $1500 a month for two kids in day care. That alone is $18,000 a year. Figure in food stamps and other assistance and yeah, $60,000 makes more sense than $100,000. Figure in health insurance vs medicaid and there goes another $10,000 a year.

The other financial problem people run into is debt. Credit card bills on some of my clients in divorce cases shock me. People can't really get ahead with 15,000 in credit card debt. Paying hundreds a month in interest. A truck payment of 800+ (mostly going to interest) and so on and so fourth. They don't get it but they lose so much money a month to just interest.
