  • A computer dying suddenly sucks

Mine completely crapped the bed a few hours ago. Thankfully I had another one laying around unused. Lost all my bookmarks, pictures, documents, passwords everything Sooo, I'm starting from scratch for the first time in years and it's a royal PITA. I've had it for awhile though so I probably should have been prepared for it, especially since I used to work on the damn things and know they don't last forever.

Especially since external hard drives are so cheap nowadays. Just bought a 4tb WD at BestBuy for $100.

I still have most of my stuff on DVDs and a flash drive, I'll just leave them there. I learned my lesson years ago when I had one die, I think it was 2001. It's just a PITA.

I have one but it's old and the drive failed on it.

Anyway, this new/old one is up and running now. I had to replace my trackball with a conventional mouse because it died as well. It was old though, I've had it around fifteen years. It will just be a task to get used to using a regular mouse but at least it's not an old one with the ball, it's an optical one.

Hey, I didn't have to shell out for a new one so I'm content.

Hey, I was used to the dang thing. Getting used to using a conventional mouse has been interesting after using it that thing for so long. I had another trackball but that's old too and uses a PS2 connector, which this PC doesn't have.

I still have the same mouse pad I've had for fifteen years too.

That 15 year old trackball has been holding the Cowboys back. With optical, We win tomorrow and Super Bowl 2018.

I use a mouse pad. Both at work and at home with my laptop.

Got me one of them standing desks at work. Pretty nifty. I don’t feel like a sloth at the end of the day, sitting for 10 hours straight.
