DeGrom hasn't pitched a full season since 2019 and he'll be 39 at the end of the deal. Not sure this was a great idea.

Yeah, the length of the contract is what makes me the most nervous. A 2 year deal would have made me feel much better.

Good point, but Texas hasn't been to the playoffs since 2016 and are going to have to take a risk or two. Might as well swing big, right?

Just 2 years ago he had an ERA of 1.08 in 15 games. Yeah, he's pretty damn good when healthy.
