Jerry isn't the one repeatedly botching clock management, settling for 52 yard windy field goals at the end of games, freezing his own kicker, or otherwise misusing the talent we do have on game days.

That's why I'm not on the "Nothing matters as long as Jerry is the owner" wagon.
    Yep, agree 100%

Jerry was CLEARLY the issue after the 93 Super Bowl till the point where he hired Parcells. After that Jerry hasn't been making horrendous personnel decision after horrendous personnel decision. There's been plenty of talent here for the most part since 2007 to at least make 2-3 good runs, and this team cant get past the divisional round.

Now the fact that Garrett is still here, you could blame Jerry for that.

Maher sux, but honestly there hasn't been much available they could have gotten to replace him. For whatever reason, there seems to be a real lack of quality kickers now league-wide.

Besides, Garrett needs Maher here for his next excuse for why a season was a failure.
Not saying 55 yard field goals are easy shit....but if a guy canít make a 35 yard field goal how can you trust him with a 50+ yard field goal to win a game on the road in a playoff game with 5 seconds left.

You canít, just like you canít trust Garrett or Marinelli/Richard in a close game against real teams.

Michael Irvin said Jimmy lost his shit because he thought the team was too accepting of the tough loss, and Jimmy made their life fucking miserable the whole plane ride back.
Our beloved "GM" was not gonna have any of that shit and I suspect began plotting for Jimmys departure during that flight if not well before

Below is a video of jeri being dismissive of Jimmys motivation tactics, calling them manufactured and pontificating how they wouldn't work anymore as a way of justifying Jimmy's firing and the promotion of the idea that he was saving the team by firing Jimmy.

The truth of the matter is winning is hard and the environment and effort it takes to win isn't fun which is antithetical to the party environment jeri loves and one of the biggest reasons the Cowboys have floundered since Jimmys ouster.

Every player is catapulted "best in the league" and over valued by management and fans alike, they're all famous and make tons of money, why should they be bothered with something as trivial as winning when they already have all the accoutrements that come along with winning but without all that stress and effort, pfft...teams like the patriots are fools

I seem to recall Landry saying something to the effect that it was his job to make grown men do things they don't want to do so they can achieve the things they have always wanted. The owner and GM of the Cowboys undermines anything that could possibly be construed as resembling Landry's mission statement

As a technicality that could be said but itís still a bit of a stretch. Jones already had his head coach lined up before he bought the team and Bright was supposed to have told Landry he was selling and the new owner was bringing in his own coach. Bright didnít get around to that and news was released that Jones was in town to buy the team and was accompanied by Johnson. I seem to remember that a little later Jones trying to contact Landry but he left town.

In his defense, it was way past time for Landry to go. Its something Tex Schramm should have handled years before. It should have never been that Landry had to be "fired" he should have been talked into retirement after the 83 or 84 season. The game was passing him by rapidly and there was no chance he was ever going to turn it around.

Jones and/or Schramm flew to Austin to deliver the bad news as Landry was golfing.

Youre absolutely correct. I remember feeling that way at the time.

And then Landry put in maybe his best coaching job ever in 1985, going 10-6 with a very flawed team.

But the game was steadily passing him by with younger coaches putting in 18 hour days mainly so they could beat him.
