The talk was that if they had signed him for near that they could cut Dez and save 8 mil on the cap hit, it would "save them 4 mil" and they would be rid of Dez. I don't know how true it was, but all 3 stations here were talking about it.

Watkins has potential, but you don’t pay 48 million for three years of potential.

This was Dez’s worst year, Hell it was everyone’s worst year except Brice Butler’s. You can add team speed without blowing up the offense.

A blue chip TE would help quite a bit, but they really needed an early round WR to be incubating right now. Yesterday. Never too late to draft some speed.
