The lack of DT is troubling.

This was a kind of how I see it rolling kind of thing. Trust me, I don't even like Trent Murphy, but hey, he's a ginger and that would be just like us.

And I have seen Dallas get hung up on a player, see him get taken and then sulk. That's what I see us doing if they cannot get Donald. They will just talk themselves into the fact that everyone else is a one-technique and lose focus.

Yeah, it was just eh for me. I just can't bring myself to do a mock where I get all the guys I like. If so, this would have had Donald, Joyner, Smith in that order.

I hate this mock for us, but it is about keeping it real.

Just a 1st rounder for me:
You stole some of these from me.

Seriously though, it is a hard draft to mock for. They were pretty much right, it is insanely deep.

The hard part is trying to predict how each team will behave with that in mind. There also is a weird free agency class with next to nothing at a lot of positions and a bunch of teams with cap issues. Usually you can anticipate some teams taking care of huge holes in FA. Not this year.

I'm really unsure about 10 of those picks.

I could easily change 10, maybe 12 picks depending on what day you ask me.

I went somewhat CB heavy towards the end, but I could easily throw another safety and some O-lineman in their place just based on team needs and value.

I also think Verrett is gonna go in the top 20 even though I have him at the end of the 1st. Just a gut feeling that he'll be one of those corners whose stock jumps significantly after a great combine.....I just couldn't figure out which team would take him as I was doing the mock.

The corners were still sitting there into the third round. The Florida kids, Breeland, Desir, McGill who some teams are going to go crazy over for no reason other than measurements. I had them all deeper in this mock.

I would love for at least two to go in the top 10-15.

I could only bring myself to put Gilbert in there because he is the only guy I saw as legitimate. Verrett is my number two but he gets downgraded for the height. I do think the two Virginia Tech CBs are legit too, especially Fuller who I see as ready to start right now.

Dennard is going to get overdrafted regardless, I don't think he's a legitimate hands down first round type.

But since you can never have enough corners.....

I'd like 2 DL with our first 3 picks but I can't really complain about any of those picks and I think we'd have the makings of a 49er type of OL with Smith, Frederick and Martin.

Agreed. Plus I think Martin could replace Free down the road. We were interested in Pugh last year but Martin is tons better.

Yea definitely, that's why Martin is so high on my list, because he can come in right away at OG and potentially replace Free down the road, or we could just keep him at OG. He brings alot of versatility and would pretty much solidify our OL as elite, and I'm pretty sure OL that can play various spots on the line is one of the Parcells fetishes that Jerry still carries around.

I'd much rather have that than the TE fetish he learned about.

I don't know if I put all of that on Jerry, his comments last year after the Escobar pick lead me to believe Garrett was the one campaigning for a TE in the 2nd, especially once it came out that he apparently loved Eifert in the 1st.

Booze, I know you have Bridgewater going to Jax, but I don't think they're going QB.

After completely whiffing on Gabbert, I think they'll be scared to take a QB that high when none of them are a sure thing. Too many questions surrounding all 3 QB's and for that reason, I think they'll be scared to get burned with a pick that high.

They'd be stupid not to take the QB. Is Khalil Mack going to make them a solid football team?

If they do something dumb like that, then I see them trading back into the late first. I do not see any way they do not take advantage of the extra year you get out of a first rounder.

Well, we all know Garrett has that fetish thing going on. Fasano, Bennett, yeah. But Jerry has it too since he signs off on the picks.
