Overall, can't complain. Decent bye. Open and close the season at home. Seven early games.

I have them at 7-9.

Also, I do like their bye week. Getting a break right before Thanksgiving week seems like it would help.
Anywhere from 6-10 to 9-7. Still no playoffs because we will leave some gaping hole on the roster because we can't self evaluate at all.

I have them at 7-9, but if they get a solid FA tackle and take a 1st round guard, then 9-7 or better is a possibility with a lucky bounce here or there.

[h=1]2013 NFL schedule: Dallas Cowboys playoff contenders[/h]

Chris Wesseling
Around the League Writer

Based on opponents' 2012 records, the best candidates to emerge as dark-horse playoff contenders this season are in the AFC West and NFC East.
Four of the five easiest schedules belong to the four AFC West squads. The Denver Broncos are legitimate Super Bowl contenders, while the Oakland Raiders likely will be in the chase for the No. 1 overall pick in next year's draft.

That leaves the San Diego Chargers and the re-tooled Kansas City Chiefs.

The Chargers lucked into the second-easiest schedule. Among the five teams with the strongest rosters in the NFL, only the intra-divisional Broncos appear on the docket.

The Chargers also have the benefit of playing at home in their two "Monday Night Football" games against the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts.
The two weakest rosters in the NFL comprise three games on San Diego's schedule.

In addition to the league's fifth-easiest schedule, the Chiefs have made significant upgrades at quarterback and in the secondary. If Chargers general manager Tom Telesco addresses the offensive line early in the draft, the Chargers and Chiefs could end up battling for one wild-card spot.

With head coach Chip Kelly threatening to revolutionize the NFL, the Eagles already are a trendy pick to bounce back from their 4-12 record from last season. One of the most active teams in free agency, Philadelphia now has the benefit of a schedule that is in the bottom-third of the league in difficulty.

The 2012 non-playoff team that has perhaps the best chance of advancing deep into the postseason this year is Dallas. Returning a relatively strong roster, the Cowboys face just one of NFL's top-five powerhouses. It can be argued fairly that every game on their schedule is winnable.

Time sure does fly. It doesn't seem like Mile Austin's breakout game was 4 years ago in KC[SUP]1[/SUP]. And that last game against San Diego only seems like it was a couple of years ago. I vividly remember the Cowboys not being able to stop their overgrown receivers in crucial situations. It was just a solid beating.

1. Why are we playing in KC again? I thought the NFL rotated games of this nature to appease the fan bases. This game should be in Dallas.

Yep it all depends on what happens in the draft. If we walk out of next week's draft with a class similar to last year's I stay with my 7-9 prediction.

We walk out with a strong class resembling the 2005 class, I can see Dallas winning 10 games.

Open at home, close at home. Raiders on Thanksgiving. Late bye.

I'll take it.
